Tom L. Childers

Tom L. Childers

While brother Earl Edwards is away in a gospel meeting in West Virginia, I will teach the Sunday morning auditorium class on 1 Corinthians 5:1ff and preach at the second hour. The sermon topic is The Story of Joseph. The scripture reading is Genesis 45:1-15.

Sunday evening, I plan to give a history of the Finger church. Here is one example of a report in the 1931 Gospel Advocate:

E. R. Harper, Jackson, Tenn.: I have just closed a good meeting at Finger with thirty-four responses—twenty-two by baptism—making, in all, during the three summers there, one hundred and thirty-four, with one hundred and sixteen baptized. –E. R. Harper. (Gospel Advocate, Sept. 3, 1931, 1105).
